Biennial (Two year plant) and Perennial (Permanent plant). Large, 2-3 inch , clear yellow flowers on tall, sturdy spikes. The showy yellow flowers open in mid-afternoon through the evening. The fragrant blossoms also open on cloudy days. Can tolerate heat and drought. Self sows freely. Can tolerate a variety of soils. Likes well-drained soil. Great as a background flower, in large containers, roadsides, and meadows. Can be grown throughout the United States.
